Religious Education (RE)

At St. Bernadette's Catholic Primary School, Religious Education plays a central part in the life of our school.

Children at St Bernadette's will develop the skills to:

  • To deepen Children’s religious understanding
  • Communicate with increasing effectiveness their beliefs and beliefs of others
  • Bring clarity to the relationship between faith, life and culture
  • Learn about their Christian responsibilities
  • Understand Catholic and Christian traditions, actions and symbols
  • Learn about their unique place within the home, school and parish community.

We use 'Come and See,' the Catholic Religious Education programme of study for primary schools.

Each term the following themes are studied through the different topics in each year group: The Church; The Sacraments; and Christian Living.

Come and See is an invitation and a promise of life for everyone. The invitation is open to all.

Jesus invited the disciples to ‘Come and See.’ They went with Jesus, spent the rest of that day with him and dedicated their lives to him.
